Why does my web browser only see some sites?

Have VM Ware Fusion 3.1.2 (332101) running on an Apple MacBook Pro 2.4 GHz w/2GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM running OS X 10.6.6

I recently upgraded and I believe (but really don't remember) that I had to updgrade or reinstall VMWare Tools.

I connect to the network sharing my my Mac's network connection (NAT).

My browser works flawlessly on the Mac side, but my IE8 on the Windows VM fails on most (but not all) websites.

For example if I try to access www.google.com, the message "Internet Explorer cannont display the webpage", but if I try to access a website that is in a DMZ on my companys network, the webpage displays OK.

Any suggestions??

Regards,

Jim P.

Do you get the exact same results if you set the Virtual Machine's Network to Bridged?

My company IT department had made a change and failed to inform me that I had to update my network properties.

Problem was not with Fusion, but with human communication.

Glad your issue is resolved and believe me, I didn't really think it was a VMware Fusion issue however changing to Bridged would have added additional information by which to troubleshoot the issue and is why I asked the question.
