VMWare 5.0.3 not working on CLEAN install of OS X Mavericks DP1...

Hi Team,

I have installed a clean (non upgrade) version of OS X 10.9 DP1 and for me VMWare is not working, I receive the following error..

"VMware Fusion cannot connect to the virtual machine."

"Make sure you have rights to run the program, access all directories the program uses, and access all directories for temporary files"

I searched the forum and followed the instructions (uninstalling / re-installing), checking disk permissions etc..

Has anyone else seen this on a clean install of OS X 10.9 ??

Cheers

Gary

Hey Guys,

I fixed the issue, my VM's were on an external Disk /Volumes/Data/Virtual Machines/

The Virtual Machines directory had the correct permissions, however for some reason the root directory (/Volumes/Data) was owned by root (not sure why), a quick chown fixed this Smiley Happy

Cheers

Try checking the permissions for the VMware folder present under ~/Library/logs

You are installing and running as an administrator account, right?
