I am experiencing a strange behavior with my Mac Book Pro running an XP image on VMWare Fusion 2.0.5 in Nat mode:
Two windows applications come back and say that the site they want to connect to is not reachable. So I type in the URL in both IE6 and Firefox 3.5.3 to see if the browser can connect. I can reach the site when using Firefox but not IE. Pinging the origin server does not work as it is configured not to respond to ping. Using a different Windows computer on my home network has no issues to connect to the site using the same applications.
I have done the following troubleshooting actions but now run out of ideas. Can someone please help?
1) Deinstalled, rebooted and reinstalled Windows applications
2) Check IE Security settings to understand if sites are trusted. Cleared cache, history and cookies.
3) Removed VMWare Network adapter under Windows and scanned for hardware changes to reinstall.
4) Ran the following command in VMWare terminal: sudo /Library/Application\ Support/VMware\ Fusion/./boot.sh -- restart
