Hi everyone,
I'm using Snow Leopard, Windows 7 and VMWare Fusion 4.1.4
I have it setup so I am sharing some drives on my Mac that I can then see when I am in the Windows view. What I'm struggling with is how to be able to access my Windows C drive in my Mac.
I am finding I am always having to transfer documents to my Mac Shared folder, when really what I want to be able to do is just access some files in their natural location on the C drive.
Please could anybody provide a few basic steps to explain how to do this???
Thanks so much
Franco
You would have to set up one or more shared folders - even the entire C drive - on your Windows 7 VM (the guest), and then access it/them from the Finder in the OS X host (via SMB); here are some interesting links:

Of course, all this is if you want to access the entire C drive or another shared folder while the Windows 7 VM is running.
Hi Sven,
Thanks so much for the articles. I managed to share my folder, however I did by IP address and as I have a dynamic IP, it didn't remain available for long....
I tried the other option of making shares visible in the sidebar, but it didn't show up, so not having much joy keeping the share active beyond one session.
If you have any thoughts, that would be great, otherwise, thank you so much for all the info anyway.
Best wishes

Well, probably you should have the virtual machine set to bridged networking (in the VM settings); and, if necessary, you can also assign a static IP address to Windows 7:

But you should also be able to use the name, instead of the IP address (which thus can remain dynamic):
