Fusion allows only low resolution on large monitor

No way to get larger than 1024x768 on a Dell P2616D, Installed the Dell proper driver but VMware asks to install Tools from CD. That my Powerbook pro of course doesn't have.

What can I do now?

Pls help, at this resolution it's really unusable.

thanks

to install VMware Tools in your VM.

While VM is powered on, Go to Virtual Machine menu in menubar and click on Install VMware Tools option.

You should also probably uninstall the Dell software from the VM. Your Windows installation, when in a VM, does not know about the physical world, only the 'virtual' one that we present to it.

As such, in the case of a display, installing drivers is not going to be helpful because Windows doesn't know it's talking to a Dell display by design.

VMware Tools will make sure all the proper drivers are installed, and it's simple to do as the other post here suggests.
