Error Loading Virtual Machine

Just all of the sudden my virtual machine wouldn't load. I am getting a syntax error in line 126. I am not an expert but after doing some searches, i am guessing it could be a problem with the vmx file. The below is what came up with I opened that file in the console. I would appreciate any assistance anyone can provide. I really need to recover access to this virtual machine.

Definitely not all - I think I meant to say it's the vmss file you want to delete. Before doing this, you might want to make a backup copy of the virtual machine if you have space in case anything goes wrong.

Please attach a file listing of the virtual machine as in

Just delete the last line using your favorite text editor. Alternately, the .vmx file can probably be recovered from the logs if you haven't tried running it too many times (which would overwrite them) - see .

With the Virtual Machine shutdown. not suspended and Fusion closed just delete the "usb.autoConnect.device0 = "path:13/15/4 autoclean:1" line.

Or...

You can use the vmxRecover.pl script from vmxRecover.pl.zip and the vmware.log file from within the target Virtual Machines's Package to create a new .vmx configuration file.

Thanks so much for the assistance. That got the error off of my virtual machine and it actually attempted to load. However, I got another error:

'The saved memory file "/Users/bryanmorton/Documents/Virtual Machines.localized/Windows XP Professional.vmwarevm/Windows XP Professional.vmem" is corrupt and cannot be restored. Error encountered while trying to restore the state of group memory from file "/Users/bryanmorton/Documents/Virtual Machines.localized/Windows XP Professional.vmwarevm/Windows XP Professional.vmss"."

Any thoughts on that?

Thanks again for your assitance.

Did your computer shut down uncleanly or something? That could explain your situation...

With Fusion not running, you can delete the .vmem file - note this is like pulling the plug on a physical computer; you will lose unsaved work in the virtual machine.

I have a number of .vmem files. Additionally, I have a .vmem.lck file. Do I delete one or all?

Thanks againg for all of your assistance. I think these are the files you are looking for. I believe the last file attached is the one that was created in the "Terminal". However, it showed that it was created earlier than it actually was so I am not 100% sure. Please let me know if there is anything I am missing. I really do appreciate the help.

****Updated. I removed the wrong file and added the right one.

That first file was the wrong file. I have attached the right file to this message.

I tried deleting the .vmss file like you mentioned. It seems to have worked. I am in my virtual machine now and everything seems to be working well. Thanks so much for your help.
