Anno 1404 (Steam) on Win7: "the program can't start because d3dx9_40.dll is missing"

I'm having a Win7 VM on newest version of Fusion 7. Now I installed Steam and downloaded Anno 1404, but when starting it, I get the following error:

"The program can't start because d3dx9_40.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem."

I have DirectX 11 installed properly.

I'm on a Macbook Pro Retina 13-inch, Mid 2014, with 3 GHz Intel Core i7, 16 GB RAM, and Intel Iris 1536 MB.

I'm **not** starting the VM from Bootcamp partition. Would it maybe help to install Win7 through Bootcamp and run it natively (instead from Fusion)?

Hi Josh,

Thanks for using Fusion. About this DX9 dll missing issue, you can google and download the DX9 package for Windows7. Or ask help from Steam.

BTW, DirectX11 was bundled installed with Windows7.
