VROPS for Horizon: missing data, desktop agent slow to report, errors in logs

We are running vrops 6.6.1.6163035 + horizon extension. All dekstops are running the View agent (v7.3.2) with vRealize enabled and broker agent is running on the Connection server. All stats seem OK.

What i am noticing is a long delay in receiving user session data. Some sessions take over 15min before data is visible in dashboard.

Also, Session Processes + Application Launch history tabs stay empty.

v4v-agent log has the following entry:

ERROR Faile to notify provider 'NetworkProvider' that a sample is about to be taken. Error code 0x80004005

v4v-perfon has a few different errors:

08:49:16 0x00001534 ERROR    Failed to write metric memory|pages_output_per_second

Log's Looks like you are not including KPI's for that particular object in policy

"What i am noticing is a long delay in receiving user session data. Some sessions take over 15min before data is visible in dashboard.

Also, Session Processes + Application Launch history tabs stay empty."

Usually in my case what I noticed is it is taking 30 min to display metrics in vROps for VDI, I don't know why it was taking too long but I will start checking default policy for displaying metrics in vROps.

I will keep you updated if I find anything!

Thank you,

Vkmr.

I looked at the policies but i can't figure out how to edit Horizon View specific policies so i can view/change the settings.

The only thing i found were vSphere related settings, or i must have missed it completely.

Hi, for changing time period of collecting metrics for particular object, please follow the below screen shot and select the object and click on pencil icon from top tool bar to edit object and go to advance seeings [at bottom] and change the time interval for collecting metrics, but make  sure the appliance storage is able to handle the changes.

Thx for the info... Learning every day here Smiley Wink

Is it also possible to change collection interval for all desktops in a particular pool, or all desktops in general? If i have to troubleshoot desktops, we have to wait to long before data is available.

Hi SummaCollege,

I have to dig into more for that information, as of now I don't know answer for it but I will update here if I come across to that setting.

Thank you,

Vkmr.

Hey Guys,

I am getting into vRops just a little bit and trying to collect correct information. Did you ever find a good solution on how to get al the data? Not only does it take quite some time to collect the information most of the time I only get seesion information on juist a ferw sessions, not all. Although it does say that it is collecting information of those sessions. Are there some sppecific ports that need to be opened to get it to work? Any other obvious things to keep in mind??

Regards,

Ray
