VCOPS doubts

Hi,

We are deploying VCenter Operations manager 5.0 in our environment and have below questions,

1. What are the actual hostnames for Analytics & UI VMs from within the OS?

2. Can we change those pre-defined names to suit our environment domain?

3. Is there any option to reconfigure the VCenter & collector agent details apart from deploying the OVA template?

4. How do we configure the VCOPs to get the details at VM levels instead of datacenter/cluster/host level?

I know this is a lot to ask but if i could get some answers that would be great.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Satish

For your question 1 & 2 please refer to this link - http://communities.vmware.com/message/1986508

I don't understand your 3 question

To get a better understanding of your environment and for better analysis, it is always better that you give the readonly access at the root level.

If, you dont want to get a exclude a particular cluster/datacenter you will have to work with permissions.

Thanks

Thanks vcpguy for taking a look into this..

3. Is there any option to reconfigure the VCenter & collector agent details apart from deploying the OVA template?

Sorry..i got that confused myself. Its clear now.

It is the internal DNS names for these 2 VMs that i am bit worried about. I am having a hard time convincing my manager about this...so dumb Smiley Sad
