UI VM cannot connect to the Analytics VM

Hi Folks,

I am running vC Ops 5.0.3 and I changed the password on both the UI and Analytics VM

Now when I restart the vApp I get the following error and not sure why. (I didnt change the IPs)

The UI VM running at X.X.X.X cannot connect to the Analytics VM at X.X.X.X. If the Analytics VM is at X.X.X.X, make sure it is running and reachable from X.X.X.X.

If the IP address of either VM has changed, then login to Administration interface that will guide you through the steps to restore connectivity between the two VMs.

... Any thoughts - thanks for the help

Which accounts passwords have you changed and how?

Did you use Admin UI to change the "admin" or "root" account passwords? This is the officially supported way to change the passwords.

Hi,

Can the UI ping the Analytics VM ?

You can login from the console as root and check.

Hi Folks,

Thanks for the quick feedback.

I changed the password using KB2013358 and everything seemed to work.

I am able to ping both nodes from each other. UI <---> Analytics

Looks like this may be a bug.

I was able to get my system communicating again - by connecting to the admin page and once there I was prompted to reconnect.

But when I login into the custom section, I still get the password reset screen.

I have a case open with VMware Support.
