Installation/deployment issue vApp vcops 5.8 - cannot access the UI VM admin

Hi,

Have anybody encountered this problem ?

When trying to login with admin account (admin/admin) after deployment vApp, "General error occured" error message appears and not able to log in with std. default password

Also no Version nor build ID information ...

I think there is some issue with the deployment. You could re-deploy and see if you are facing the same issue.

Well, the weird part is that 5.7.2 version works like a charm - have encountered this issue now already for 2nd time ...

Even tried the admin & vmware password combination, reset via console the web services, but with vCOPS 5.8 and vC 5.1 it seems that their might be a problem ?

Hi there,

is that fresh install or upgrade?

which UI are you trying to login to - Admin/vSphere/Custom?

if fresh install, have you checked VM's consoles, to see there are no errors etc?

Both VMs are running and work as part of the vApp, right? Is the tunnel between then OK?

anything in the logfiles (admin*.log, ciq.log)?

Hi

Fresh install @ customer

Issue encountered on a basic vCOPS UI VM - no custom

In VM console no error messages - both VM were running but no DNS name was given (first-vm external / secondvm-external) ...

With installation of 5.7.2 problem was solved

I am wondering if this is due to the information on download site (see attached file) ???

hey sve_vmw,

you may wish  to delete that snapshot cause of the license keys Smiley Happy

there shouldn't be such a problem with the installation.

as a workaround, you can upgrade the 5.7 to a 5.8 with the corresponding PAK files.

I agree - delete the screenshot - the keys are worth a lot of money!
