Identify inactive/idle VMs

Hi,

Can someone please help me out with identifying inactive/idle vms within my vmware environment? It can either be from vSphere Client or vRops. I did o through the existing posts but couldn't find much.

Thanks,

Mustafa.

There are out of the box reports for this and also depending on your vrops version there is a system dashboard

Although there is this ability built into vROps, only you can truly determine what "idle" means in your environment. As of the latest vROps version (7.5) the ability to determine what "idle" means has been severely crippled to the point that the only metric you can change is the time window (in which usage below 100 MHz is observed).

why did they change the config of how the idle report works? What do people use now?

The "why" is a question for VMware. The what is still vROps and those reports.
