Hyperic Adapter for vcops 5.6

Hi guys,

I've put hyperic appliance that comes with a hyperic server backed with postgreSql server. And i've also installed the hyperic adapter on vcops. When i'm trying to give the details of the Hyperic database in the Adapter settings and trying to test the connection between the Hyperic database and vcops it says "connection not successful". I've changed the port number to 5432 and also the DB name to HQ. Is there something i'm missing here?

I have seen some adapters fail on that adapter "test". But if you set the adapter to autodiscover equals yes/true then they still seem to collect data.

Also make sure you set the DB to PostgreSQL

Can you take a look at the Hyperic adapter log?  Located on the Analytics VM at the following path...

/usr/lib/vmware-vcops/user/log/adapters/HypericAdapter

You may need to change the log settings to "Info"

Check that you can establish inbound connection to DB from another OS by Postgres client.

As i know, Postgress by default are blocking outgoing connections.

try check this:

Also check firewall rules.

I  workaround this issue by installing Hyperic as standalone.
