Redirection of the traffic using vCO

Hello!

I wonder if it is possible to create a workflow with vCO that can do the redirection of the affluence on one VM to another one ?
For example if the "traffic" on a VM reaches 90% of its CPU, all the requests or the traffic destined to this VM has to be redirected to another VM from the same vAPP fro example.

Do you think there is any way to realise this with vCO ?

Thanks a lot!

Yes there are ways to orchestrate this with vCO:

You can poll for the CPU time using a vCenter alarm (see article on vCOteam.info) and trigger a workflow that will add a VM to the vCNS / NSX load balancer poo.

This can be more sophisticated. For example F5 Networks have load balancers that can send SNMP traps when the response time becomes too slow.

vCOPs may also be able to generate such traps.

It really depends on what is the trigger that is needed and what load balancer you have in your environment.
