Install Failure ESX 3i

Hello

Tried to install the free ESX 3i server and received this error message that it could not find a device to install the image onto.

Manufacturer: vpr Matrix, INC

Model: 6100

Service Tag: Aborted

Bios Rev: BT84510A.0005.PQ4.0206181600

Is there a known issue with this hardware?

Thanks

Hi, Had the same problem. Found that it was partitioned incorrectly. I reformatted the HDD, installed the ESX version with the GUI so I could see the partitioning and then knew it was found, then installed ESXi. Some motherboards do not support ESXi. I found Intel P35 chipsets to work fine with SATA HDD. They are quite cheap too.

Good Luck!
