How to Convert IDE Disk to SCSI on VMware Server VM

This post is related to another open post I have open here: http://communities.vmware.com/message/1041924

I'm running into all sorts of problems trying to get my VMware Server Linux VMs converted/imported into ESXi. I think the main problem I'm running into is the fact that the configured hard drives are IDE. Is there any way to convert the IDE disks to SCSI, so I'll have a better chance of getting my Linux VMs to work in ESXi?

As given in the other thread, to all those who only read this:

http://hamed.dk/home/53-vm-ide2scsi

He said that this conversion can be done via changing the smaller vmdk file and he shows how.
