DR Help

I have 2 ESXi host servers connected to a iSCSI SAN. The first one is considered the "live" server and the second one is there in case of hardware failure on the first one. They both have access to the same LUN on the SAN. My question is, if the first server fails, what is the correct or best way to bring the VMs up on the second server? Please keep in mind that I'm using the free versions of the software, so the DR features in vcenter aren't available to me.

Thank you for the help.

well, we could tell you that you just need to browse the datastore, search your vms folders, and select the archive with .vmx, right click on it, and add to inventory. if you do so, you will receive a message that the virtual machine (name) already exists in the inventory. so you have to option to add it with a different name (it would be the name that appears in the inventory)

or, you just remove any VM (from the inventory, not delete them) , go to browse the datastore, and you can add them one by one, and start them all!!
