iSCSI Lacie 5big mounte on only one ESX host

Hi all,

I have a cluster of two ESX3.5 servers. I bought a "Lacie 5big Network 2" box, with iSCSI capability.

I gave 1TB of space to iSCSI functionality.

Now the strange thing:  I added the Lacie IP to the targets of the 1st SX software iSCSI adapter and it worked,

I found th storage and was able to create a 1TB VMFS datastore. But when I perform the same steps

on the 2nd ESX server, I do not see any new storage device available, neither the already created datastore.

Obviously, I launched many "Resca all", but with no success.

What I'm doing wrong ? How can I fix this issue ?

Thank you and bye,

  Stefano

I do not know this kind of storage. But on some storage you must specify that a LUN is shared between more hosts.

Check on storage options.

On this storage you have to simply assign a disk space >0 to the iSCSI, and choose CHAP authentication if you wish, that's all. And if at least one host can mount the device then it should be working fine...

Have you tried to connect only the second host? Just to see if it works?

Maybe there is firmware upgrade of your NAS.

Yes, I configured the iSCSI initiator on both hosts, but in the second one the LUN didn't show up.

What I didn't try was completely disconnect the 1st host to see if it might interfere with the second

discovery, but I'm going to get a new one of these storage and I will perform deeper tests.

Bye,
