TOE/TSO/IOAT Functionality

I am wondering where you activate the TCP offloading functionality included in 3.5??? I would like to boost the performance of my NFS connections.

My comparison of iSCSI hba's to NFS had NFS being the winner in throughput and io/response/etc. but it uses about ~20%higher cpu (9%iSCSI vs 32%NFS). I would like to enable the offloading and possibly IOAT to see if I can get this number down to where NFS is the clear winner for my Netapp system.

Looking around in the VI Client I could not find anywhere to enable these features.

Hello,

this is not possible through VI Client. You have to do it in the service console like esxcfg-vswitch -m 9000 vSwitch1. Afterwards you have to change that in your VM.
