P2V IBM AIX 5.2

Hi Guys,

We have vmware 3.5 infrastructure with VC 4, attached to Dell EMC CX320 network storage (SAN). And

I was wondering if anyone has successfully p2v the ibm aix 5.2 running on IBM pseries hardware?

My concerns were vmware support for i386 & CPU platform. How it's going to support PPC platform and if there is anyway i can use the environment to virtualise AIX platform?

ESX does not support virtualizing physical hardware running PPC - only supports virtualizaing physical hardware based on x86 architecture -

The only way to virtualize AIX is to use IBMs own software and the hardware that is built into the pSeries/iSeries. In the IBM world this is known as LPAR.
