Newb ESX 3.5 iSCSI confusion

Hello,

I'm trying to add an a 2nd iSCSI LUN to my 3 ESX servers (from the same iSCSI target as the exsisting storage), currently they all see the new LUN and the exsisting one under the "Storage Adapters" screen but when i try and run the "Add Storage Wizard" the new LUN doesnt show up in the list to choose.

The servers are different hardware with 2 running QLogic iSCSI adapters and 1 using a software adapter but they all behave the same, am i missing a step or somehting?

Any advice would be most apprecited as i have run out of ideas.

Thanks.

Check to see if you have any CHAP configuration setup with your new LUN. Chap must be configured the same at both side : ESX side and disk array side

Also check if you have any network persmission on the disk array side ...

Thank you for replying.

There is CHAP configured, i had to do this before it would let me connect the storage adapter to the target, this which worked fine so im assuming my CHAP auth is ok. As for permission on the disk array im not aware of any as this is a new array i have just setup but t be honest im not 100% how you check or even if there is such a thing on the setup we have (EMC Clarrion with SANRAD V-Switches to give us iSCSI connectivity).

Login to Service Console and check what filesystem is shown this LUN.

vmhbadevs command will help you to determine which /dev/sd? is your new LUN.

Set 0xfb as partition type in fdisk. After that new LUN should appear in wizard.

No, it's a new RAID group on the SAN utilizing new FC disks and shelf.
