I'm trying to troubleshoot an issue I'm having with my VM's powering off during the snapshot committal process. I'm starting to think it migth be related to using HP Virtual Machine Management pack with HP SIM.
Is anyone here running HP SIM along with HP VMM (2.1, 3.0, 3.1, 3.5)? If yes, are you also using any kind of backup utility for the VMs? esXpress, VCB backups, etc.? This information would help me track down an issue I've been having for months now...
Thanks
Hello,
I'm trying to troubleshoot an issue I'm having with my VM's powering off during the snapshot committal process. I'm starting to think it migth be related to using HP Virtual Machine Management pack with HP SIM.
I run HPVMM.

I have used it with all backup tools. No issues at the moment.I did have a snapshot commit issue but unrelated to power off of the VMs.

Which version of VMM are you on? Version of HP SIM? Version of ESX?
What sort of issue did you see iwth snapshots? I am also having problems with snapshots being leftover for some reason...almost like orphaned snapshots. So I have to create a new snapshot on a VM from time to time, and then use the option to delete ALL snapshots. However, this isn't my major concern... but instead, the issue of VMs powering off automatically.
Kinda wondering if anyone else out there is seeing this, such as the people here:
Do you fina any value-add with VMM? I guess I don't yet. I'm not sure what it really provides me aside from what I do in the VI client anyways. (We dont use VC)
Hello,

No one else out there is running HP VMM in their HP SIM environment to help manage VMs? Kinda surprised at the lack of responses.
Hello,
I am not, most people use the HP ITRC forums for these types of questions.
