Other then ignoring the SSL certification prompt, is there a way to disable it on the ESX server so that subsequent installation of the Vi Client won't have the prompt?
I do not have a Virtual center.
Thanks!
You can make login in you ESX 3.5 Stand Alone Server (Using VI Client);
"Configuration" tab;
"Advanced Settings";
"SSL";
Disable de flag.

I untick the SSL checkbox but still receive the certificate warning while trying to login using VI client!
A followup question on this one:
And when you connect to VC with the VI client.
Is there a possibility to disable the SSL warning?

Hello,
Is there a possibility to disable the SSL warning?
This message shows up when the Certificate in use is Self-Signed or not a member of the known Certificate Authorities. You would need to either replace the certificate with a valid non-self signed certificate or use the 'ignore' button. In essence this is telling you that there is something not quite right about the certificate and that it requires you to review it in order to proceed. Ignoring this step could place your systems at risk from an SSL Certificate Injection Attack.
