Enhanced VMotion Capability prob

Hello, I have just put in a couple of new DL380 G5 Servers with the latest Chip in them. They are going into a cluster with previous DL380 G5 model server but the chip is different.

I have created a new cluster based on the following link and set it to have EVC enabled. When I tried putting in my first new server I get an error stating it couldn't be done check that settings in BIOS to ensure XD and VT was enabled. I found the setting for VT and enabled it but still it errors when trying to import into the cluster.

Does anyone know what the setting for XD is and/or had the same issue and come up with the solution, any help much appreciated.

Cheers

Hello,

EVC requires on HP Servers: Intel-VT be enabled as well as No-Execute Memory Protection be enabled within the BIOS. Both are under Advanced->Processor

I am in a similar scenario, and have been advised to check these settings in the BIOS.. I am using IBM blades HS21 with diff XEON families that are supported under VMware documentation.. (X5355 and E5430 families).. I hope I dont encounter the same problem once in BIOS

BUMP for any further knowledge here please?

regards

Paul

Edward, thank you very much right on the button. Now sorted. That well known phrase of you learn a new thing every day comes to mind but in my case I learn many new things every day. Thanx again
