I want to migrate a VM from an existing VI3.5 environment to a new vSphere environment. I understand the process for the VM migration, but I want to migrate the VM to the new vSphere datastore before I perform the VM processing migration.
Can I present a datastore that has been prepared by vCenter 4.0 to a VI3.5 environment and perform the command line sVMotion to move the VM to the new datastore? Would 3.5 have the ability to recognize and work with the datastore from vSphere?
Thanks for any help on this.
Chuck
Yes, there should be no problem. It's still all VMFS3
Thanks Troy. That was what I thought, but I couldn't find the information anywhere.
