cant boot esx 3.0.1, wont go further than loading vmkernel module tcpip

This has been racking my brain for the last day, is there a simple fix to this, havent really seen any answers anywhere.

My only other option i have been playing with is rebuiliding the esx server its self.

Hello,

If this is a new install you may wish to look into upgrading the firmware and BIOS on your system. I had a similar problem and it was a downlevel version of the network card firmware. Upgrading fixed the issue.
