Hi robertswm,

Congrats to you to pass your VCP5-DT exam.

I would like to ask you one doubt regarding the exam. I need your valuable suggesstion.

I am planning to take exam for vmware view 5.0 certification (VCP5-DT). I am already certified of VCP.5

For VCP5 certification I have taken authorised 5 days training classes before i write VCP 5 exam.

2.   Since I am an certified VCP 5, am I eligible to write the exam directly VCP5-DT or do I need to take authorised training class to write VCP-DT exam. Please advise me on this. 

      So far my understanding the vmware rule was before take any vmware exam the candidate must be attened for authorised trainiing.

You do not have to take an extra class for VCP5-DT! All you need is a VCP5 and take the VCP5-DT test! It’s a fun test, Way harder than the VCP test.  There are some really cool features that VMview can do. I have yet seen it in a production environment but instilled it in a lab and tested it.

Hi Sai,

Only the VCP certification has a required course. For the VCP5-DT certification you can sit the exam as long as you already have your VCP5 with no additional training required. You have to buy any OS and Application licenses from the original vendor, so Microsoft in your case.

You are eligible to take the exam directly now as you are already VCP5. Go through the VCP5-DT blueprint and practice with home lab.
