Good idea.

But I suppose that ID will be the same of VCP4-DT... of course not all VCP4-DT are also VCP5-DT (I've lost the beta opportunity due to no testing center available, and now I have to plan the new exam).

I too have the same feel that not all VCP4-DT's will not go for VCP5-DT. Anyways I will be going for mine next week. Hope I will get a diff number as I wanted be under 100 at least this time. I am 102 with the 4.6 (no regrets).

And I didn't get an invite coz I wasn't VCP5 when VMware sent it's invites.

If VMware follow the same method as they did with the standard VCP the VCP-DT 5 will add a digit to the start of the VCP number

I think so ,

VMware will follow the same method as they did with the standard VCP VCP-DT 5 will add a digit to the start of the VCP number.

VCP5-DT number 1005, so I guess I am number 5 to pass.

I took the beta exam the second day it was available.

Ahh ok, like with the VCP once you have your number it stays your number. I've never had a VCP-DT so I'm likely the 1005th overall VCP-DT. That makes sense given it is how the VCP number works when they upgrade the cert.

I think this is how the numbering works:

1. if you were VCP4-DT and passed VCP5-DT exam they gave you the same number (up to 200?).

2. if you passed only VCP5-DT exam you will get a number starting from #1000.

That is standard operation procedure for VMware,  once you have a number you keep it,  my VCP-DV is 28550 and has been since my VCP3 days
