Hiding individual VMs from Findings & Recommendations

Hello,

We recently started using Skyline. Now we have this one recomandation "Virtual Machine has more than 3 Snapshots". For some VMs these snapshot are created by a third party replication tool and therefor are valid snapshots. Is there a way to exclude individual VMs from a findings or recommendation?
Kind regards,

Malcolm

Hello @mkobes,

Welcome to Skyline Communities!

We would like to inform you that Hiding an inventory object is limited to ESXi hypervisor hosts, NSX-V, and NSX-T
components (Controllers, Logical Routers, and Edges). We have raised a feature request.

Hidden inventory objects no longer appear within the Affected Objects table for any Active
Finding.

For Example - you may want to hide an inventory object include an ESXi host that is part of
a test or development environment.

Please refer to the following procedure to hide an object:

  1. Within Skyline Advisor, click the Findings & Recommendations tab.
  2. Expand Inventory within the Filter. Locate the object that you want to Hide.
  3. Hover your mouse pointer over the object that you want to Hide. An eye icon appears.

  4. Click the eye icon to hide the object.

The hidden object no longer appears in the affected objects table of a Finding.

In case you want to unhide the object, you can follow the same procedure and click the eye icon to UnHide the object.

Sincerely,

Aryan Garg

Hi Aryan,

Thank you for your reply and raising a feature request.

It would be nice if there is the option to hide individual VMs from certain findings for when there is an valid reason why this finding should not apply for this object.

Kind regards,

Malcolm

Is there a status known for this feature request?

I'd like to see the option too, for exactly the same reason:

multiple snapshots on VMs can be valid, hence they should not raise an alarm

Thanks,

Piet
