Does SRM require two storage?

Hi!

Is it possible to use SRM just for restart group of VM on reserved servers which use same storage like primary servers?

In other words can SRM provide failover for enclosure without failover for storage?

Alex,

Site Recovery Manager currently requires replicated storage, so you wouldn't be able to use it just for restarting VM's without failing over to the storage replica.

Thanks Jon,

What mean currently? Do you have information about this feature in next versions of SRM?

I don't knwo about new features. But do you agree that keeping only one storage it's a single point of failure? it should not be a complete recovery system...

I'm not referring to any specific future plans. SRM is optimized for remote recovery on different infrastructure. For local recovery on some of the same infrastructure, HA is probably closer to providing what someone would need. That said, both products will of course continue to develop based on customer needs. What is your scenario that would need SRM to restart VM's on the same storage?
