Status VM is still unprotected when using vShields

Hi all,

when will be changed status of VM to protected from unprotected when i using vShields? Discovery works fine, i see open ports and all traffic, but status is still unprotected.

Robo,

Based on your description it sounds as if you may have the potential for the "unprotected VM" to VMotion to another host where there is no vShield appliance installed. It is also possible that you just may have not created any rules yet. If you havent then there will not be any protection as the vShields are set to allow all traffic by default and then start blocking based on rules you create.

Can you elaborate on your configuration and/or take some screenshots and attach it in a reply? If so, I should be able to diagnose this more easily.

Also, this can occur if the VM has more than one NIC and the alternate NICs aren't protected by the vShield.

yes, problem was in multiple LAN interfaces on one VM, and second LAN wasn't protected with vShield instance.
