X11 display server protocol configured

Hi,

I have installed a clean version of  Ubuntu 22.04 LTS, updated everything then installed VMware Horizon 8 Client for Linux 64-bit.

When I lunch the client I get the following error:

"the display server protocol you are using is not supported. recommend to log in with x11 display server protocal configured"

Can anyone point me to instructions on how to configure x11 display server protocol?

Thanks,

Gerry.

I figured this out myself, for anyone else with this problem you need to edit the /etc/gdm3/custom.conf file to disable Wayland then restart.

Hi, I think I have the same problem. I have found the conf-file but can't edit it. Can you please explain exactly how you did?

open terminal
sudo su
vi /etc/gdm3/custom.conf
delete # from WaylandEnable=false
:wq

reboot

Thank you very much! I actually figured it out using this guide:
