Initial screen size configuration issue Horizon App

Hi All

We have an issue where on the intial connection to a desktop the screen size doesn't seem to calibrate correctly for the monitor(s) being used.  The desktop is pretty slow to respond and mouse is offset a bit to where it is hovering over isn't where it actually is.  We've found that we can fix this by having users "Exit full screen" in the Horizon Client wait a minute or so and then toggle full screen back on.  Once it adjusts everything works great and continues to for the rest of the session.  Poking around these forums I have seen suggestions that if your VMware tools and horizon agent aren't compatible that can cause this but our builds look supported on the compatibility matrix.  Any ideas what causes this?  Let me know anyone needs more details

VMware tools version 12288

Horizon agent version 8.6 (2206)

Horizon connection server 2206

Windows 10 Enterprise non persistent desktop pool

Horizon clients 8.8.1 using Blast

You might want to test forcing the Horizon Indirect Display Driver instead of the SVGA driver.  Here is link to a discussion on the pros and cons.

On your test virtual desktop, before connecting to it with the Horizon Client, you will want to set the registry value:

HKLM\Software\VMware, Inc.\VMware Blast\config

Name: PixelProviderForceViddCapture

Type: Reg_SZ

Value: 1

That definitely helped.  In our case it seems like the desktop is a little slower to display but when it comes up everything works as expected
