Cannot add pool

I need help.

I have a trial of Horizon 8 and the licensing they provided is for :

  • VMware vCenter Server 7 Standard for Horizon
  • vSphere 7 Enterprise Plus for Desktop
  • Horizon Enterprise
  • VMware vSAN 7 Enterprise per Concurrent User
  • VMware Workspace ONE Access
  • VMware ThinApp Client
  • VMware ThinApp Virtualization Packager

i have a windows 2022 server with the 2309 Horizon Administrator.

i had ESXI 8 on my m640s but have downgraded because of this error to 7U3.

i have went through many tutorials on getting this done but no one addresses the error

"Cannot add XXXXXX because a VM with this name already exists.  Enter a unique name for this pool/farm."

I quite literally have 1 VM on the 2 blades in the cluster and they are clean loads.

i went through the wizard, and this is the final config on the last page.:

Have you tried putting a different value in the VM Naming pattern field like maintest-{n:fixed=2} ?

Yes I did that from the start.

got it working.

I had to put the gold images in a different container in vcenter. Then create another container to hold the pools. Then they started working
