VMFS Creation Options

Dear All,

When we create VMFS Datastore, is there any option where we specifiy it to be either 'public' or 'shared'?

We are planning VI3 installation and will be having some VMs that will be clustered at OS Level so will need some shared quorum disks between them (between VMs), If the above stated option is available, what should we select? i.e. public or shared VMFS Datastore?

You don't have that in VMFS3.

For clustered volumes, you need to use RDM's

Just to clarify, is it not possible to present same virtual disk to 2 VMs and use it as quorum disk instead of RDM?

I'm just trying to find the link to the docs which explain it, but from memory you need to create the OS on local disks and then use RDM for the quorum.
