invalid VM

Hi Guys,

One of my VM in vCenter is showing as invalid though server is in powered On state but it shows as its powered off but we are able to connect remotely (able to RDP). the VM name is showing as servername (invalid)

can anybody explains why is this happening or what can be done to resolve it.

Hi VINAY,

I'm not sure what the cause is but I'd suggest getting the vm (or OS as you stated it was on) powered off, remove the vm from inventory and re-add.

Do what VM_ suggested.

I dont think you even need to power it off actually but that is the safer route.

Hi,

Login to the ESX(i) host using root on which this VM is hosted and check whether it shows the same thing.

If yes, then remove from inventory and re add the VM.
