boot from usb device

Hi,

we want to boot one of our vm m/c from usb devices(can be USB Hd,or usb drive).

The problem is how make our vm bios as usb bootable.In short how can we force in the bios usb bootable.

could you please let us know how we can do this

You cannot boot directly to a USB device - but there is a workaround

Boot from USB in VMware Workstation

This also works in ESXi as well.

if you can connect your usb device via the vsphere client,

you should be able to hit escape on star tup for boot options

and select removable devices.

Hi,

we did tried this we download the magager and get this boot from this manager.

once use selected usb it get stuck there can no operation

can you please let us know how we know this get progress

i guess unless your bios is not usb bootable you can do.

we did tried the steps which you suggest but did not worked.
