Hi,
I have a vApp defined in a OVF. It contains four machines, each with different size disks between (100GB - 300GB).
The vmdk for each machine is approx 750MB in size.
When I was testing this I set the capacity of the disks to 30GB, and selected thin provisioning. This took approx 10-15min to import.
Now when I increased the disk capacities to 100-300GB, the time to import has increased dramatically to around 3 hours!
The vCentre server is in a different geographic location from the client and hypervisors, but surely with thin provisioning, it shouldn't be taking so long to import?
Is it normal for vCenter to take so long to thinly provision large disks ?
