W2K8r2 vitrual machine with the same SID id.

Hi

I have two virtual machine, Windows 2008r2, whit the same SID id. I don´t know how it´s possible but probobly it´s a cloned vm. Any tips of how I can solove this?

you can run the sysprep on it, but according to Mark who wrote the NEWSID tool and eventually pulled it after worknig at Microsoft, its not relavent and does does not cause any problems because joining to the domain randomises the GUID enough that it will never have duplicates even with an identical SID...

Do a search for newsid...

If the Windows serves are in an AD-domain then you are fine.

If they are standalone or in a Workgroup then you need to change the SID with sysprep.
