Virtual machine system requirements

Hi,

Im new to VMware spicifically in creating virtual machines. Im planning to create and run 20 virtual machines in 1 server running ESXi 5.x, I would like to know the best system rquirement that will best fit for 20 running virtual machines.

Jester,

  If you can setup a host so that you have enough physical memory to be slight above the total of your virtual machine combined memory that would be optimal.  Also, depending on how CPU intensive the VM's will be would determine whether you want to go with a 2 or 4 socket box.  Although, 2 sockets should be ok in most scenarios.

If your virtual machines do not need multi virtual CPU's then do not give it to them as it can cause problems with the scheduling.
