VMware ESXi 5.5.0 - which maximum file size is correct?

I have VMware ESXi 5.5.0. ESXi 5.5.0 supports 62TB for the virtual disk size.

However, the ESXi host server doesn't say 62TB.

configuration -> storage -> datastore1 -> maximum file size says 2TB

virtual machine -> edit settings -> hard disk 2 - > maximum file size says 3.3TB

Questions

1. Why doesn't the ESXi host server say 62TB for the max file size?

2. Why does the max file says 2TB in one window and 3.3TB in another window?

3. What exactly is the largest virtual disk size I can have on this ESXi host server?

vmfs 5.60 2tb max.jpg

vm 3.3tb max.jpg

The maximum file size showing on these windows are based on the space available on datastore with name datastore1, and take in mind that you will need use vSphere WEB Client to be able to use virtual disks greater than 2TB, see: VMware KB: Support for virtual machine disks larger than 2 TB in VMware ESXi 5.5

The maximum file size showing on these windows are based on the space available on datastore with name datastore1

datastore1 properties -> maximum file size: 2TB

virtual machine properties -> hard disk 2 -> maximum size 3.3TB (datastore1)

Why does datastore1 says 2TB for max file size and the virtual machine properties allows 3.3TB on the same datastore?

You must use the vSphere Web Client to create or extend a VMDK beyond 2 TB.

https://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&docTypeID=DT_KB_1_1&externalId=...

I have created VMDKs beyond 2TB using VMware vSphere Client and it still works. Will this be a problem?
