I usually refer to the VMware Compatibility Guide for my updates https://www.vmware.com/resources/compatibility/search.php?deviceCategory=io&productid=38053&deviceCategory=io&details=1&partner=23&releases=428&VID=1000&DID=0097&SVID=1028&SSID=1f53&page=1&display_interval=10&sortColumn=Partner&sortOrder=Asc&b=1561062514976

Here, there is a mention that "Firmware versions listed are the minimum supported versions". My query is on the Device Driver version. Does the driver version mentioned are the minimum supported or the max?

    Hi,

It is not correct to say the minimum Drivers, but the drivers that have the minimum Firmware guaranteed to resolve any Bugs.

I/O Adapters in the VMware Compatibility Guide are listed with the minimum firmware version and links to corresponding drivers at the time of certification.

VMware recommends using the latest firmware versions listed at these links provided that they are paired with certified drivers.
