Upgrading from free ESXi 5.5 to vCenter essentials 5.5 ?

Hi,

we tested free ESXi 5.5 with sphere client the last month and have many VMs created, already for productive purpose.

So we are still in evaluation period with esxi.

We bought now vCenter essentials kit.

My question is about integrate vcenter licence to esxi and using vcenter software.

Can i do the following to work with vcenter?

1. login with vsphere client to free esxi, and enter vCenter license key.

2. after licensing esxi with vCenter key, can i just install vCenter Software on Client and manage esxi with vCenter software from this point?

3. will licensing with vCenter and using vCenter Software have any influence on existend VMs on esxi?

Hello,

First Step is install vCenter server if you have one skip this step

2- Add host(s) to vCenter Server
3- Apply license keys vCenter Server and Esxi host(s)

PS: This operation can be done with zero down time for existing vms.
