Syslog sizing

Hi all,

I need to find out how much space syslog files will take up in a vSphere 5 environment (i.e. per host, per week/month etc...) so that I can see how much space we will require given the retention policy for logs that I have to keep to - (6 months worth of logs).

I've had a look around but can't find any estimating tools for this...

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Hi,

Thanks for the link, it was quite useful but didn't have the info I'm after...

I'm looking for information on the size of logs that ESXi 5 hosts will produce and the frequency that they are produced so that I can try and work out what sizee to set them at and the rotation settings.
