Starting Up VMs between VSphere Farms

We just updated our primary datacanter to VCenter 4.1 and are adding a couple of HP 620 blades to the environment which will be on ESXi 4.1 (everything else is 4.0.  Our farm in DR (not linked) is still on 4.0.  We do SAN to SAN replication between sites for DR.  Someone on our team has expressed concerns about migrating some production VMs to the HP620s on 4.1 because of DR hardware differences.  This seems like a non-issue to me as long as we don't do something crazy like using 4.1 maximums then try to run the VMs in our 4.0 ESX hosts.

Although we have older Dell R900 hardware in DR, I really don't see the issue here as we're not going to be VMotioning the VMs, only bringing them up on the replicated SAN in case we declare; but this guy is insisting on not doing any migrations until HP Blades get added to DR as well.

Is this guy being overly cautious or does he have valid concerns here?
