We're a single location office and we've been discussing the idea of renting rack space from a data center, putting our hardware in there and replicating to the data center. Currently, we have 2 hosts and 2 SANs onsite. The SANs replicate to each other but I'd like to split them up. It would also be nice, in the event of a disaster, that we could run off of the data center. What is the best way to replicate our VMs to a data center so that if something happened to our location, either a hardware issue or disaster, we could run off of the data center? I've heard Veeam brought up in before but didn't know if anyone had experience with anything else.
Thanks.

or if you upgrade to vSphere 5.1 you get vCenter replication free which could provide exactly what you require
Hi ,
Along with NuggetGTR, said, vSphere Replication is storage indpendent. Also does not need license for storage level replication . Also we have option of Standlaone vSphere Replication, where you need only one vCenter server.

Thanks for the responses. Would VRanger also be an option? I'm not sure what the cost and work involved in upgrading to 5.1, that's something we'll have to take a look at.
Hi,
If you have vSphere Enterprise plus license then upgrade to 5.1 is free, I think check detail about

We have Essentials +.
Hi,
If you have Essential Plus, then you have to upgrade your license to use vSphere Replication. I cannot comment on Vranger, since i Have not used it.
