Problems after install security patch ESXi670-201912001 in ESX cluster

Hi,

After installing the security patch (ESXi670-201912001) in all our ESXs that are part of a cluster, we have had network problems (timeouts, lost connections) and even had error alarms on the hosts.

The new patch came with a new version of the VMWareTools, so we have installed them on some of our virtual machines.

To try to solve the problem we are considering going back to the pre-patch  ESX SW version, but we are concerned that there is some kind of compatibility problem between the new VMWareTools and the ESXs version.

Would there be a problem with this?

Has anyone else had problems after installing the patch (ESXi670-201912001)?

Thanks

Hopefully, you have a solution already.

FYI: VMware tools is typically forward and backward compatible, but always test things.

Hi,

Considering that it is the latest patch released, I suggest you call vmware support and decide with them the best solution.

P.S: When you have the solution put it in the post that can be useful to other people. Thank you

Similar issue on certrain hosts in one of our clusters.  It kills VSAN,HA and host would often go unresponsive, still no fix.
