Pcpu6 purple screen of death

I have been having a problem with my VMware 4.1 install patches/Build 260247. This install is running on a Dell R905 with 4 quad core processors with 64Gb of ram, raid 5 running on the Perc 6/i. On this system two vm's are running and cause the machine to purple screen under normal use booting or high stress situations if you get that far.

Thanks,

Jonathon.

From this kb http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=102021...

physical cpu 6 may be the offending party.

Yea which is what we were troubleshooting. But if that refrence is to the physical cpu I assume that would be the 2nd core on the 2nd physical CPU. cpu1 being 0-3 cpu 2 4-7 cpu3 8-11 and cpu 4 being 12-15. do you know how the CPU's are numbered in VMware? Also we replace the motherboard and CPU 2 through Dell because of the Pcpu 6 error. Before they replaced the processor we swapped 1 and 2 to see if the problem changed Pcpu's but it did not.

Thanks,

Jonathon

That would be my assumption as well. My apologies, I don’t know how vmware numbers cpus.
