Hello,
I can't get USB-passthrough to work on our new IBM x3100 M5 with a Xeon E3-1220 V3. I'm using ESX 5.5 Update 2.
VT-D is supported and activated in the UEFI. I followed the normal procedure to get USB passthrough working. I can enable the USB controller for passthrough.
But whatever method I choose to present a USB disk to a VM will fail. If I choose to attach a USB device the option is greyed out.
If I choose to attach a PCI device the VM can not be started anymore and I get the following error message:
Failed to start the virtual machine.
Failed to register the device pciPassthru0 for 0:26.0 due to unavailable hardware or software support
Does anyone have any idea how to fix this?
Thank you for any help!
