IBM tape library TS 3100 connected to ESXi 5.0 through fiber channel

I have the following problem:

I could connect a virtual machine that was created in a VMware ESXi environment 4.1 and then upgraded to 5.0 U1 to an IBM tape library TS3100 through fiber channel but only moving the tape using the web interface. It worked the solution, until a power failure. When I tried to start the VM which has a Windows Server 2003 it gave the error that it has a missing device, that is the tape, but the media charger was accessible.

I tried a lot of methods but I cannot see the tape. Is it possible to see the tape? Is it true that it isn’t supported by VMware?

It would fall under the partner-supported category - see http://kb.vmware.com/kb/1016407 for more info.
